Biography

Barbara L. Hill, 88 of Beloit, Wisconsin, died, Sunday, November 15, 2009 at University Hospitals in Madison, Wisconsin.

The former Barbara Louise Parrish was born on May 27, 1921 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of Lawrence and Edith (Barry) Parrish. Barbara married Clinton Matthew Hill on September 7, 1960 in Janesville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1982.

Barbara was employed at Microswitch in Freeport, Illinois for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Beloit where she was active as a greeter, former church clerk, and Sabbath school teacher. Barbara will be remembered by many for her wonderful sense of humor. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed mowing her lawn, and both shopping and donating at the "Goodwill Store".

Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Edith (James) Buresh, Janesville, WI, Christine (Errett) Elmer, Milton, WI, and Patricia (David) Reed, Houston, TX, three sons, Dale (Terry) McIntyre, Orangeville, IL, Earl McIntyre, Ash Flats, AK, and Raymond McIntyre, Green Forest, AK, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Lou Buster, Fort Myers Beach, FL, and brother, Kenneth Parrish, Torrance, CA, along with many other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and three brothers.

Funeral services are 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November, 19, 2009 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, WI 53511 with Pavel Goia of Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Committal will be in Baldwin Cemetery, 4000 South Afton Road, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. The family is honoring Barbara's request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2500 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511.
