William Ezell McBride, 82, of South Beloit, Illinois, died, Monday, January 4, 2010 at his home.
William was born May 27, 1927 in Blytheville, Arkansas the son of David Lee and Lotti Lou (McIntosh) McBride. He served from 1945 to 1949 in the United States Army. William married the former Mary Jane Fry on February 5, 1953 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2002. He has lived in South Beloit for the past twenty-five years, coming from Rockford, Illinois. William was employed as a machinist for many years while living in Rockford. He was an active member of Berean Baptist Church in Beloit and former member of Berean Baptist Church in Rockford. William will be remembered as a caring and giving man who enjoyed fishing, camping, watching western t.v. shows and movies, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
William is survived by his four daughters, Sandra McBride of South Beloit, IL, Deborah McBride of Beloit, WI,Dawn (Mike) Mutimer of South Beloit, IL, and Lisa (Jim) Webb of Beloit, WI, son, William (JoDee) McBride of South Beloit, IL, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and sister, Donna Tucker of Rockford, IL. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ann McBride, two sisters, and two brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beloit Regional Hospice for the loving care that was shown to their father during his illness.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Berean Baptist Church in Beloit with visitation one hour prior to the service. Committal will follow in Pinnacle Hill Cemetery in rural Roscoe Township. Memorials may be given to either Beloit Regional Hospice or Berean Baptist Church.
