William “Bill” L. Bylsma, 79, of Delavan, Wisconsin, died on February 2, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Milwaukee. He was born on February 7, 1930, in Racine, Wisconsin the son of Clarence and Helen (Behrend) Bylsma. William was a graduate of Racine Horlick High School in Racine, Wisconsin. He owned and operated Bill’s Co-op Service Station in Racine for many years before retiring to the Delavan area. William loved cars and motorcycles and he owned a number of antiques over the years.
Survivors include his life partner, LaVerne Haines of Delavan, daughter Lynda (Lance) Bylsma Twesme of Springfield Missouri, son Glenn (Dee) Bylsma of Bothel, Washington, five grandchildren, Taedra, Kole, Stacey, Josie, and Stephen, great granddaughter, Tehya, brother Charles (Chris) Bylsma of Madison, Wisconsin, along with LaVerne’s children, Terry Haines, Jr., Jeffrey (Terri) Haines, Vicki (Ron) Haines Schultz, and grandchildren, Holly, Hannah, and Olivia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence Bylsma, Jr.
The family will honor Bill’s request for no visitation or services. The Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home in Beloit, Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Lakeland Animal Shelter, Elkhorn. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.hansengravitt.com.
