Biography

Joyce E. Moran, 80, of Janesville, Wisconsin, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin, died, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

The former Joyce Elizabeth Farnsworth was born, December 10, 1929 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Alma (Johnson) Farnsworth. Joyce was raised in Coon Valley, Wisconsin and graduated from Westbey High School in 1947. She married Robert Moran in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 7, 1956, he preceded her in death on November 1, 1984. Joyce worked in the Administration and Patient Registration Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital for forty-two years, retiring in 2002. She was a longtime member of the former Calvary Lutheran Church in Beloit, and thirty-five year member of the Women Of The Moose, Chapter 56 in Beloit. Joyce enjoyed bowling and dancing. She was a life long fan of the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers baseball, and the Green Bay Packers.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tracy (David) Smith, son, Todd (Lisa) Moran, granddaughters, Lisa (James) Chitek, Millie Smith, and Lauren Moran, grandson, Nolan Moran, great-granddaughter, Leah Chitek, great-grandson, Noah Chitek, all of Janesville, Wisconsin, sisters, Kate (Jim) Cox of Arizona, and Lucille Knutson of Washington. She was preceded in death by her sister, A. Geraldine Ipri, brother, R. Michael Farnsworth, along with several sisters and brothers-in-law including Leonard Ipri, and Palmer Knutson.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff's at Cozy Li'l Acre in Janesville, and the ICU and SCU departments at Mercy Hospital in Janesville for the tender, loving care Joyce received during her stays.

Funeral service are 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home in Beloit with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, Illinois.
